ABOUT ME

God embedded me with a passion for writing and education many years ago.  In addition, He has blessed me with two education degrees focusing on written expression and communication arts and several other teaching certifications. I began writing by publishing numerous curriculum units, working as a freelance writer of Sunday School curriculum and youth drama productions, and helping to develop a homeschool setting for highly gifted eighth-grade students.  But, I am truly blessed to have been a public-school teacher at the same time as these other adventures.  I currently work full-time as a sixth-grade Communication Arts teacher.

In 1997, my grandmother died from a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Thus began my passion for researching and writing about the disease. Years later, after working with the middle-school students, I also discovered a desire to minister to young people who struggle with regular and, sometimes, highly irregular needs. One early morning, God inspired me to combine my passions into the theme for my first novel, Finding My Smile. Then, God began pouring out other plots to share in His ministry.  Shekinah, my second novel, is the story of several beautiful lives, fictional in the story but all based on real-life,  that revolve around God's abiding hope and love.

Above all, let it be known that anything I've written, secular or spiritual, is truly the result of Godly inspiration -- Soli deo Gloria.
